About the Role
Job Title: Contract Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – 1099 Contractor
Location: Bentonville, AR (Clinic-Based & Mobile/Daycare)
Organization: Walker’s Tiny Talkers
Job Overview
Walker’s Tiny Talkers is seeking a passionate and independent Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team on a contract basis for 2026. This role offers the unique flexibility to balance clinical work at our main Bentonville office with community-based therapy in local daycares. You will provide essential speech and language services to a diverse pediatric population, helping children achieve functional communication goals in the environments where they live and learn.
Responsibilities
Evaluations & Assessments: Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and feeding evaluations to determine service necessity.
Direct Therapy: Provide individualized treatment for delays in articulation, expressive/receptive language, AAC needs, fluency, and social communication.
Dual-Setting Care: Manage a caseload that includes seeing patients at the Bentonville Clinic (1003 SE 14th St) and traveling to local daycares to provide services in the child’s natural environment.
Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely electronic SOAP notes and progress reports in compliance with Arkansas Medicaid and private insurance standards.
Collaboration: Work closely with families, daycare staff, and other therapists (OT/PT) to ensure a holistic approach to the child’s development.
Benefits of the Contract (1099) Model
Joining Walker's Tiny Talkers as a contracted worker offers significant advantages for professionals seeking autonomy:
Schedule Flexibility: As a contractor, you have a high level of control over your own hours. You can scale your caseload up or down to fit your personal lifestyle or family needs.
Higher Hourly Rates: Contract positions typically offer a higher gross hourly rate compared to salaried roles, as you manage your own benefits and taxes.
Tax Advantages: You may be eligible to deduct business-related expenses, such as mileage for daycare visits, home office equipment, and professional development materials.
Diverse Work Environment: Enjoy the best of both worlds—the collaborative energy of the Bentonville clinic and the independence of field-based work in daycares.
Reduced Administrative Burden: Focus primarily on patient care and clinical documentation without the requirement of attending all internal corporate meetings or non-clinical administrative duties.
